Abstract: In this paper, the development of the laser communications explored by NASA and MIT Lincoln Lab is described The key techniques and key components units of the laser communication system are introduced for LCDS system Its composite proceeding for optical,mechanical,electrical elements and the optimization of the whole system and the main performances are also discussed.
