Abstract: The uniformity of anchor nodes distribution in a wireless sensor network has a very important impact on the positioning accuracy, but the related research is limited. In this paper, a method for measurement of uniformity is presented, a new criterion of normalized uniformity discrepancy is given, and then a hybrid algorithm for node localization is proposed. Experimental results show that the method for measurement of uniformity is effective and the hybrid algorithm improves the positioning accuracy.
