Abstract: Millimeter wave multibeam active phased array antenna, with broad bandwidth, high gain and controllable beams, has attracted more attention. Based on commercial devices and domestic process conditions, an active phased array scheme for geostationary satellite communication is proposed. In the scheme, direct radiation antennas and four electronically reconfigurable pencil beams are included. The phased array with 721 elements and element spacing 3 times of wavelength is presupposed to achieve 47 dB gain, 140 W output power and less than 4.5 dB noise figure.
