Analysis of Ion Noise in TWTs and Klystrons

Abstract: Ion noise of TWTs and klystrons are analyzed using small signal method by motion theory and moment theory. The relationship between phase noise and signal frequency, voltage fluctuation are obtained. From the analysis results we find when the amplitude of voltage fluctuation and signal frequency increase, the phase noise would increase.
