Study of Collision Resolution Algorithms of DOCSIS

Abstract: In this paper, binary exponential backoff which is a collision resolution algorithm of DOCSIS is studied, and a novel algorithm is presented. Setting up a simulation model of these two algorithms, the result of simulation indicate that backward binary exponential backoff has lower access delay than binary exponential backoff.
