  • A call admission control policy in wideband multimedia CDMA system is proposed in this paper. Different interference thresholds are set up for new calls and handoff calls. When new or handoff call arrives, interference threshold for new call and handoff call are firstly determined, then intra-cell and inter-cell interference are calculated, and the total interference is got. The total interference is compared with interference threshold, if the total interference is less than the threshold, the call is accepted. The policy improves the system performance with lower handoff call dropping probability.

Abstract: A call admission control policy in wideband multimedia CDMA system is proposed in this paper. Different interference thresholds are set up for new calls and handoff calls. When new or handoff call arrives, interference threshold for new call and handoff call are firstly determined, then intra-cell and inter-cell interference are calculated, and the total interference is got. The total interference is compared with interference threshold, if the total interference is less than the threshold, the call is accepted.
