A Survey of Finite Element Mesh Generation Methods

  • 摘要: 有限元网格是链接几何模型和数值仿真的关键纽带,其自动化自适应生成仍是须重点研究的问题。文章综述了三角形网格、四面体网格、四边形网格和六面体网格的研究现状;对非结构化网格生成方法进行了总结,详细介绍了三角形网格和四面体网格生成的主流方法与工程技巧;进一步对结构化网格生成的技术和发展进行了分析,论述了四边形和六面体网格的各种生成方法的原理、优缺点以及研究趋势。

     

    Abstract: The finite element mesh is the key link between the geometry model and the numerical simulation, and its automatic adaptive generation is still a key problem to be studied. In this paper, the research of triangular surface meshes, tetrahedral meshes, quadrilateral surface meshes and hexahedral meshes is reviewed. This paper summarizes the methods of unstructured mesh generation, and introduces the mainstream methods and engineering techniques of triangular mesh and tetrahedral mesh generation in detail. Furthermore, the technology and development of structured mesh generation are analyzed, and the principles, advantages and disadvantages of various generation methods of quadrilateral and hexahedral meshes are discussed.
