Abstract: In this paper, after modelling the mobile channel with a two state Markov chain, the performances(packet error rate,throughput efficiency and transmission delay) of truncated RS/type Ⅱ hybrid ARQ protocol in this fading channel are analyzed and simulated.It is found that,based upon the powerful error correcting capability of RS code,low transmission delay and packet error rate can be obtained by restricting numbers of retransmission.
