Integrated Design of an Equalizer with Temperature Compensation

  • This paper proposes an integrated design method for the temperature-compensated equalizer, which operates in the frequency range of 6 GHz to 18 GHz. The equalizer is composed of temperature compensation circuit, amplitude equalization circuit and two 3-dB couplers. The integrated design of temperature compensation and amplitude equalization circuits can further improve the integration of a system. In the meantime, the utilization of the intrinsic isolation character of the 3-dB coupler also improves the input/output return loss of the temperature-compensated equalizer. The measurement results show that the fabricated temperature-compensated equalizer can achieve an amplitude equalization of 3~5 dB and temperature compensation of 6 dB over the entire frequency range of 6 GHz to 18 GHz.
