Modeling Research of Magneto-Optic Current Transformer Based on Symmetrical Double-Light Circuit Detection

  • The paper presents a model of whole magneto-optic current transformer (MOCT) based on symmetrical double-light circuit detection and Jones matrix. The research result indicates: the output voltage is two parts multiplying. One part is linear part, which is direct proportion to the primary current transient value. The other part is nonlinear part, which is related with the magnetic linear birefringence effect and Faraday Effect. In ideal MOCT system without magnetic linear birefringence effect, when the primary current transient value is small enough, the output voltage of MOCT is direct proportion to the primary current transient value. Simulation results verify the exactitude of conclusion.
