Influence of Wavelength Conversion on Design of Resilient Multi-fiber WDM Networks

  • In this paper, a new resilient network model aimed at minimizing total fiber length is established and the influence of wavelength conversion on design of restorable multi-fiber WDM networks is studied simultaneously. The results show that introducing wavelength converters has no benefits to reduce the cost of multi-fiber networks without considering survivability, and using wavelength converters can reduce the total fiber length in evidence, especially with link protection especially.
