Polarographic Behavior of 8-Hydroxy-quinoline-5-Sulphonyl Hydrazide(OSH)

The polarographic behavior of 8-hydroxyquinoline-5-sulphonyl-hydradize is investigated.The study reveals that the electroreduction process leads to the formation dihydro compound through single or double reduction steps in acidic and alkaline media respectively.The result of controlled potential electrolysis shows that the number of electrons involved in electrode process is equal to 2.The reasonable mechanism for the electoreduction of OSH is put forward.
