Abstract: Based on the study of HFC MAC protocol over contention/reservation scheme, an efficient method, which worked on random contention and polling model has been proposed in this article to meet the needs of a multi-priority service access control system. The computer simulating shows the service with higher priority would have the better performance of throughput and delay.
