Abstract: In this paper, a kind of user name & password authentication based on SOCKS V5 firewall is redesigned. Its principle and implementation are illustrated in detail. The method identifier of user name/password and some data structures are defined, and an anthentication database is implemented. The authentication process is also demonstrated in the flow figure. The system's performance and state conversions are further prescribed in petri net mode.
