Abstract: In this paper, the concept of a soft starter for a.c. motor is introduced. The technique boosting voltage with limited current is presented when the motor starts, and the design approach of soft starter is discussed. The hardware architecture of the starter is described, the block chart of interruption program for producing synchronal signal is given in details.
