Abstract:
Considering the low angle resolution of direction of arrival (DOA) estimation caused by the limited number of elements in the antenna array, a virtual aperture reconstruction method is proposed in this paper, which is based on phase compensation of broadband hopping signals. Besides it, a virtual steering vector is constructed resorting to phase compensation on the signal vector at multiple frequency points of the broadband hopping signal. Finally, a virtual aperture much larger than the physical aperture is formed, which is capable of high-resolution DOA estimation. The simulation experiment results show that the virtual array reconstruction method in this paper can effectively improve the angle resolution of the DOA estimation with a small computational complexity.
